    > Because it's successful? Because when a new person learns about crypto, they are told about ethereum the way we were told about ethereum. About a decentralized unstoppable immutable (and thus uncensorable) dapp platform, which is now false, tricks people into supporting it, and wasting + losing their money. It's same reason I don't like fraud, just like onecoin. I'll take premine any day over centralized stoppable mutable dapp platform that raises value by lying about all 3. >Because people are developing stuff on it You know that giant list of "dapps" or proposed dapps? Why is none of them useful? Because it's a solution looking for answer. It's also fuel. It's also treated as a testnet, a playground for devs to do as they like including reverse everything they promised it will be, but advertised as a complete original project asking for buyers. Other coins don't have a non stop army of people trying to trick others into buying so they can sell higher. • Heath Goyette Reply

Yes. In cryptocurrency YOU are supposed to hold your money (via access to your own "private keys"), with OneCoin, you don't even hold them (technically, they don't exist because there is no blockchain, but that's another story). The Finnish Docu it's brand new and does a good job in covering a few particulars which would otherwise require an entire season series of 2 hour specials. The scope of this scheme your pops fell into is the biggest in recent history. YLE is modeled after BBC and its a commercial free Publicly Funded. No reason for it to be biased. Ruja just had a baby via a surrogate mother (someone else's womb) which gives her an underage dependent; making extradition difficult in d some countries. This is very well planned scamming although there are glaring holes in logic also.

**TLDR: Just click on the BCT threads (#2) from the AurumCoin people stating they have no affiliation with OneCoin/OneLife. Ken Labine is delusional as usual.** >In the video however Labine claims that OneCoin/OneLife owns a different company - Aurum Coin Ltd, and that OneCoin/OneLife is connected to AurumCoin - One World One Coin by Aurum Coin Ltd. This is totally False. >Labine also claims in the video that OneCoin tries to trademark "One World One Coin" (video at 4 minute position forward). This is also totally false information, as OneCoin has nothing to do with Aurum Coin Ltd in reality. So, in practise his whole video is based on this lie. >Actually, Aurum Coin Ltd's "AurumCoin - One World One Coin" totally separates itself from OneCoin/OneLife in their facebook post here: I can't see the FB post/pic. **What I did instead is just go to the source threads of AurumCoin**. *I do suggest people look at the rest of the information in the post as well though.* [1: AU coin old BCT thread](https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=793502.0). In that thread. [Only one user mentioned a querry about AU coin bonus with joining OneCoin](https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=793502.msg11042889;topicseen#msg11042889). It was not confirmed or denied. [2: AU coin new BCT thread](https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1165615.0). Same questions eventually appeared in the new thread. [User AUKING uses the same behindmlm link as Ken](https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1165615.msg15082606#msg15082606). **Stating: "AurumCoin.com is not a scam like aurumcoin is not a scam.they were very genres with they offer and brought back more than 10,000 au 1/30 of all the existing coins!! they could steal but they are honest, they do not need our coin. you can see it in the blockchain thats the first proof they where here long time before our coin and have all the domains onecoin is a scam and called their coin: aurum gold coins and nor aurumcoin here is the second proof this are different companies and aurum coin inc is the owner of trademark "one world one coin" and not onecoin".** *Opinion* At 4:29 of Ken's video we hear an ecstatic claim of why would a company out to scam people attempt to trade mark themselves? A couple have but a notable and recent example of this is GAW/Paycoin. Which is currently under a federal lawsuit for all the right reasons that OneCoin/OneLifer is attempting as well. *Trademarks do not equal legitimacy.* **PS special thanks to not only other users locking in on this global MLM but also to /u/TimTayshun (Tim) who actively engage nutcases like Ken.** *Hey Tim, after wading through other cult-coins like this. My opinion of Ken is that he knows full well of what he's doing, I've experienced people like him with the same mannerisms, scripts, and fuzzy logic. He fully ignores reality and the blatant arrest records of a lot of the OneCoine/Onelife promoters. > What Coin? is this showing stats for, what do all these statistics mean? Bitcoin. You can see the same info in other [online blockchain explorers](https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/52d5z1/help/d7jblz3). Bitcoin is a software that creates a network of nodes that send transactions and blocks between each other (transactions in blocks are confirmed - blockchain is in fact a shared ledger). > Is this even a legitimate website to see such information? Legit yes, a bit buggy though. Bitcoin is open - open source (you can see the code - i.e. exactly what it does when - [here](https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin)) and it is also open for participation - anybody can run the Bitcoin client to be the new node of the network. There is no center, everything works in this open decentralized/distributed way, everybody can join & immediately see how it works ...and that it actually works. - Unlike OneCoin - they are just using the same jargon they saw in Bitcoin/cryptocurrency community, but are complete anti-thesis of Bitcoin - everything is closed, nothing works. > all the current legitimate coins that are accepted and are in circulation? I wouldn't be describing all those as legitimate - anyone can create new coin by cloning existing clients/networks (as most of those are open-source in the same way as Bitcoin). But there are lots of coins that are not bringing anything to the table - a lot is probably motivated just with profit. I always recommend to start the study here: [FAQ](https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Faq) [Common Myths](https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Myths) ...it's better than watching dumbed-down videos. There are also many other interesting things in that wiki - e.g. [controlled supply](https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Controlled_supply) or [blockchain](https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Block_chain) or [transaction technical details](https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction), etc. OneCoin is just classic [Ponzi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponzi_scheme) - they promise returns, but they aren't doing anything, they have no product, nothing - all just empty marketing & scam. You can read also [here](https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook) (just click 'ch01.asciidoc', 'ch02.asciidoc', ...). Andreas is a prominent proponent of Bitcoin/cryptos, also his videos are worth watching.

Encourage people to use this kind of clearly misleading terminology usually doesn't help. Sure, you can call every "hash-linked database with digital signature" with the name "blockchain", but that's generate a number of potential misunderstandings. I.e.: - I read somewhere that " the blockchain is immutable" (the Bitcoin one is, in a practical sense), so now I believe that every hash-linked database with digital signature share the immutability feature, but this is false. - I keep hearing that "blockchain is a branding new, revolutionary tech", so now I believe that every hash-linked database with digital signature is something new and exciting, which is not (ds exists since the '90s). This can mislead you in many way, i.e. in investment considerations. - I know that some people are very expert in "blockchain" (i.e. Bitcoin), so I assume they are also expert in general applications for hash-linked databases with digital signatures, but that's generally false (and the other way around: some MongoDB or Git experts are very skilled in what you need, but you assume they are not, because they don't know Bitcoin&co). - I read somewhere that " blockchains will bring financial freedom and permissionless innovation" (Bitcoin will), so now I believe that every hash-linked database with digital signature will have this kind of social implication, which is absolutely false. If people refers to onion sites as "The Deep Web", experts correct them. If people refers to a transistor (that works thanks to quantum tunnel effect) as "Quantum Computing", experts correct them. If people refers to OneCoin as "cryptocurrency" experts correct them. If people refers to database without a PoW system to serve an open pseudonymous network avoiding Sybil attacks (and so has no use at all for "blocks" and "blockchains"), then experts should correct them. There is not the "right" use of a terminology, but there are confusing uses and clarifying uses. If an expert promotes a confusing use of terminology, I suspect he is just trying to profit from ambiguity.

“Well, she’s changing the blockchain, she’s gonna retire the old one, which you can do. Mkay? I’m sure she’s mining coins right now in the new one. So she can distribute coins to everybody who has coins, with OneCoin, whether they’re in mining, whether they’re in coin safe, whether they’re in yer yer account, wherever they are, if you have ‘em coming, your coins on October 1st will double. Ya her me clear. I’m puttin’ a period at the end of that. There’s no caveat, there’s nothing there. If you have coins that you have in your account, that are in mining in the process of mining, or in your coin safe, they will double. Mkay? And so she’s gonna take all the coins that she’s mining on the new algorithm, that by the way, mines every one minute. And let me tell you what makes that more exciting. 10,000 coins coming out every one minute, what it does is it gives us our coins faster. And you know as well as I do, people don’t really get excited about this opportunity until they see the mining opportunity actually work. Okay. And if they gotta wait six months, yer people may hang around and go, you know I’d love to tell my friends to get into this but if I don’t see my coins, yu know, I’m a little bit concerned. And so that will solve a huge problem as far as team building and creating massive momentum. Um, I just see our organizations taking off like rockets. Of all the thing I heard at the Saturday event, that one nugget right there told me my organization is about to light on fire, because, when people get their coins and they know they’ve got more value than what they put in I mean when you put in sixty four hundred dollars on a tycoon package and you get 4,000 coins valued at six or seven dollars apiece within three to five days, man, yu-hehe, yer excited, you wanna talk about fueling this thing, man, now she just put nitro on it. Nitro, with this one minute, you know, mining.” That's right folks. "she’s changing the blockchain, she’s gonna retire the old one, which you can do." "I’m sure she’s mining coins right now in the new one." Ohhh . . . I'm sure too, I'm sure too. Mine those OneCoins Dr. Ignatova. Mine, mine away. . . . hope you get all that work done in time. *bites nails in dire sense of suspense . . .*

Edit: [Simple wiki on OneCoin.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onecoin) *You can see Bulgaria, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Latvia giving warning about this scheme.* Most of their survival techniques are based on social media where they can heavily audit and edit all who speak on the channels. Along with doing these large, evangelical, events. They offer zero technical details on how the OneCoin blockchain (if it exists) operates. **They will be coming for our friends and family who barely understand cryptocurrency.** Be sure to fully educate them on closed vs open source blockchains, wallets, and cryptocurrencies in general. **THEY WILL STILL ATTEMPT TO HIDE BEHIND CHARITIES AS WELL.** This is the average comment the main speaker Dr. Ruja Ignatova projects onto the faithful. 13:00 - "Bitcoin currently has almost no merchants taking it." *Try not to punch your screen during the video and you can realize this is the average level of brainwashing these events do.* **They're not transparent either. They're audit video is a joke and I invite plenty to go watch it.** *They also promised monthly/quarterly audits from a year ago. They never happened!* They speak in vague vaporware. Don't let yourself or others become a victim of their program. **This is the evolution of opening up the ponzi to the public. They cannot survive without new capital, meaning you and your friend or family.** Whether your on *team* Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and so on... **WE SHOULD ALL BE UNITED AGAINST MLM+PONZI SCHEMES WITH CLOSED SOURCE BLOCKCHAINS.**

How delicious. Better than The Economist cover of Bitcoin making the world go around, the world go around. 90 central banks are dicussing DLTs, the new name for Blockchain Technology. 90!!! That's almost all of them. Central banks are taking about relieving commercial banks of their own tawdry existence! This is amazing! Why would they take on retail customers? Well, they would lead you to think that with DLT, it's because they can. Nope! It's because in a world with Bitcoin, they have to! This is bigtime serious stuff. This is central banks talking about removing their limbs to save their core. Central and commercial banks are so symbiotic, they may as well be a single organism. They would not contemplate this unless for survival. They are starting to observe the gravitational pull of a future with the end user choosing which programmatic immutable monetary policy they prefer, denecessitating central banks, They are seeing an event horizon of a zero friction, zero control global transfer service, denecessitating SWIFT and the other regional interbanks. They see that six figure untrustworthy name-and-password ledger managers are cheaply and securely replaced by random 256 bit uncrackable numbers, denecessitating commercial bank. They see that they have to do this, but being a coin developer is not at all the same as being the currency monopoly. So they can't be Bitcoin; maybe they can be Onecoin with shields of lions and unicorns! I think we are on the verge of tiny creeping to the exits to some of these institutions to utilize public blockchains. They would be crazy not to buy some UTXO real estate. It could not have been more that two years ago that Carney was on a video, saying Bitcoin was kind of silly, chuckling that he didn't own any. Now, CBDC (chuckle) on DLT (chuckle) will

In my opinion and the experience I have from mining and trading cryptocurrency, **he is being scammed**. The MLM portion of the system is reliant on new member growth under him. Hence the reason why he's tapping into his friends network for additional growth to better his account. He's been conditioned to *think* this OneCoin product will be a viable payment option and will do things like the accepted Bitcoin protocol/coin. They like to hype the program from its large membership and imply that because of the following the OneCoin will overtake other coins. Which is not how any of the environment works. It is hard to judge peoples intentions if their told a lie to begin with. In my opinion its hard to answer your friends intentions. *I would be gentle with him on this subject and first bridge the decade gap between you both. It will probably give you better insight to his intentions. :)* Some easy knowledge to bring to the table once your ready to talk about the subject with him. The difference between open/close source software and blockchains do and imply. I don't know your background but a large reason why Bitcoin and other blockchain technologies take off is because everyone can read them and confirm on the rules of what it does. OneCoin software/tokens is closed sourced even to the people logged into it. Bitcoin and blockchain technology started in 2008. It *might* be in a lot of things besides holding a currency value. You might not even know your using it with a product if its seamless. Before massive adoption or recognition happens a lot of fraud follows with it due to the complex nature of it. A lot of fraud is being caught when the coin/scheme has an open-source code to it. Unfortunately the OneCoin scheme is closed and is controlled by centralization under the CEO of it.

Well, I got 10 mins so will try give you a good answer:-) I think btc is established as "the" crypto and IMHO any new coin has to have a advantage in use or technology to secure it's place as a viable coin. There is too much hype and speculation surround blockchain technology which makes it a easy target for get rich scheme's and even blatant scams ( onecoin ). The world of coins is like the wild west and the gold rush ( am English so my knowledge of the wild west and gold rush comes from old b/w movies lol) it's pretty lawless out there but there be money in them there hills. Any new coin has the attraction of " get in early, the price is going to sky rocket" and this is extra attractive because it backed up by fantastic price increases made by other coins. Even the most cynical like myself think " oh man, this coin looks like it well backed, i'v found it early, I can make easy money" The trouble is we all know about the history of btc, from cents to a thousand dollars and more recent coins like ETH but we quickly forget the coins that fail completely (neucoin springs to mind, what happened to that, was well backed but it just seemed to come to nothing) or even the ones that are really just holding on LTE. It far to easy for people to focus on the easy money they may think a new coin is going to make them. To be 100% honest with you I'm kinda feeling this coin is already losing momentum, i get the feeling its roots are close to ETH and it riding on the back of the early success ETH had, to entice speculators and investors. I Ah my 10mins are up. Look, I really hope the coin can find its place in the market and best of luck to the devs. If I had some spare cash I would be very temted to take a gamble and get in early on it but it would be just that, a gamble.

Well maybe this could clarify how Bitcoin and Onecoin differ considering the mining part: What comes to Bitcoin, mining the coins is an essential part of the whole process as is the existence of the blockchains. Onecoin on the other hand is a closed system hence a mining procedure is utterly senseless. Ignatova's latest announcements in London make the whole ponzi even more ridiculous that it has ever been. She stated that the current blockchain will be "retired" and they start a new one and increase the coin amount to 120 billion. In addition everyone's coins will be doubled. Then she just dictates that this all has no effect on the value of onecoins. So she's now breaking the basic laws of crypto currency as well as the principles of economics. You don't have to be a scientist to realize how crazy these new features and claims of Onecoin are. The way things are going they are now up to test how stupid their victims could be. It's like a Nigerian scam letter - you wouldn't expect anyone falling on those but there is one born every minute.

Yeah, I can't wait til this is done. I never set out to be a "scam buster," but Onecoin has just gotten too big, too ridiculous, and to blatantly a failure at Economics 101 ("doubling" coins/ tokens, increasing "finite" supply by 5,700%, coins not selling while price continues to increase, etc). Not to mention "banking the Unbanked" while having "KYC" embedded into their *new "blockchain." Lol. Most recently, I have just struck while the iron is hot with that nonsense. SEC is following the Team Leaders now and building their case. The AVERAGE investigation lasts, statistically, between 18-28 months (with a recent one which lasted just 6 before action was taken to shut it down). The fact that this is global and in Gibraltor/ Bulgaria/ "no-one-can-touch" places is discouraging, but when the SEC strikes in the USA finally, and arrests the ponzi pimps pushing the scheme (like convicted ponzi felon, Tom McMurrain and others), that will put the final nail in the coffin for the scheme (I hope).
